Story Behind the Song
Written and recorded in the home studio in Menlo Park. Bald Ego plays all instruments. Daley Sirkuss sang last-minute backup vocals before we went down to Digidesign to suck it all into ProTools 5.0 to do editing and mixing. We bounced it straight to mp3 and uploaded right off the T-1 line at the end of the mix session. So fresh it is still steaming.
Lyrics
HOMO
Written by Frederick Clarke
Ten million years and nothing's changed
We're still a bunch of monkeys but with beautiful names
IQ's with culture art and taste
Assholes and elbows and time to waste everybody
Everybody on the planet
Every faggot, nigger, honky, dike, wetback, redneck, gook, kike
Skinhead, pothead, deadhead, freak
Hippie, junkie, computer geek
That's just like me, just like you
Just like Hitler and Michael Jackson too
I'm a die hard heterosexual
Homo erectus intellectual
Got a Ph.D from M.I.T.
Meal in a tube, you and me
Gotta buy more stuff what else is new
Gotta breathe a lot more O2
Everybody guzzling the H2O
Everybody on the planet is a homo
Homo-Erectus
Homo-Protect us
Homo-Infect us
Homo homo homo homo
The emergence of symbolic language
Spoken first, written later
Separated every man and animal
One must be lesser the other one greater
Man is animal monkey see
Ausralopithicus monkey me
Neanderthal man ain't nowhere guys
He's in my genes and I don't mean Levi's
Homo homo homo homo
Everybody on the planet is a homo
Everybody on the planet is a homo
