	Story Behind the Song I started writing this in Summer 2003, and then put it aside while I worked on some other songs. Then I finished it up in October. Sea of Flames was my favorite track off of The Eyes of Time's Conception, so it was very hard to write a satisfactory remix. This song is the closest EiB has ever gotten to writing a love song. I think that there is a certain element of danger running through Sea of Flames, focusing on creation and destruction through our relationships with others. In the last year since I wrote the original, I've come to understand this danger much more clearly, which is why I titled this version as the "Sirens mix" Lyrics With you I would fly to the surface Where the oceans rise and fall And everything lives a short while - There is a pattern to the way we die And as the flash leads the thunder We see the brilliance on the waves Reflecting to remind us That we stand in a sea of flames Chorus: And I have never known such beauty As the wonders of the mind And at the edge of the moment Creation gives design (To everything) Here we stand together Seizing the sirens waves And if you listen closely You will hear that they sing our names (In a sea of flames) And the air we breathe is water And the fire burns our hearts But this tension of division Breaks the edge and the real divide So then nothing lies between us And everything falls beyond Strength exists immortal But is not only for those who are (Chorus)
