Alright, slowly but surely I'm getting some original tracks recorded. I'm still waiting for a certain program so I add some of my beats and electronica influence, but for now here's another acoustic track--this time an original.
I wrote this song about a week ago, but I like it pretty well at this point, so I thought I'd throw it up here. The recording is still not perfect, but I may record a tighter version in the near future if I have the time. Anyway, enjoy, tell your friends, get me a girlfriend and keep checking this site for more songs. -Alex Leader |

Story Behind the Song
This song is sort of a compilation of my experiences, as are many of my songs. It's basically a reference to what gets lost as we grow up and forget who we wanted to be.
It was one of those songs that just kind of came out one night while I was sitting in my bedroom playing guitar, and over the next few days I tried to smooth it out a little bit, and got around to recording it about a week later.
Lyrics
Verse 1:
In a world of dreamers
We're wide awake
Worrying too much
And up too late
The sun is empty but the nights mean everything
So we stay up together to figure out some things
Blue eyes, they look right through me
And I try not to act like I think you're so beautiful
Chorus:
And how the hell did we all get so old
When did growing up become letting go
And brilliant futures pass us by
Sometimes I just want to hit rewind
Become that child who never had enough time
When innocence lost and the passing years
Were the furthest things from our minds
Verse 2:
Stupid, the risks we take when we're young
And foolish, the ones we don't as we get older
The dreamers, they give up, move on their way
Got mouths to feed, got bills to pay
The people running through their lives, it's tragic
Like somewhere along the line they got stuck in automatic
Chorus
Bridge
Chorus out
