Story Behind the Song
Written about my wife on one of those warm and fuzzy days; actually, Robbie showed me a new series of riffs he was thinking of for a song, for me to write words to; i recorded him playing it and talking with my voice recorder i carry, then listened to it about 10,000 times; obviously things on the homefront were going well as I listened....
I did see a piece of my heart go down her blouse the first time we met by the way...
Lyrics
I remember the first time I saw you, smiling in that coffee shop
A piece of my heart came out of me and sailed straight down your top
I don't ever want it back though, less this love affair should stop
Like finders, keepers, losers, weepers, best hold on to what you got
Then came the first kiss, I kissed you on the back of your neck
Shivers and tingles ran up my spine, it was a kiss I won't forget
Sweet sweet love, I gonna ever let go of this sweet love
Lovey dove I aint ever letting go
It's a love the best I ever had, oh yeah sweet sweet love, nver going sad
I said a love, text book love yeah all the way, a love never failing or gone astray
-jam interlude-
Now time has past some, and we're a little bit older and gray
Lots and lots of real good times, with many much more to say
Episodes and tirades and many memories galore
some good some great and some you just wanna throw out the door
But this love, I still wouldn't trade anything with for sure
No no NO this love is bright white light and pure oh yeah
Yeah this love this love for sure grandeur
