Spoken word giving a day-by-day account of the war in Iraq during April, 2003
    CD: Not Yet Released

    Lyrics
    April 1st

Iraqui Freedom's 50 miles from Baghdad
    The President's getting mad
-'cause some are saying the operation went bad
    - But then Marines rescue a soldier who's only 19
and she's seen on every TV screen and magazine cover
    - Soldiers begin ducking for cover
    when they hear about another
    missile on its way
    -but with no delay
    it's stopped when it's rocked
    with the Patriot system
    so no one's a victim

    April 2nd

    - Republican Guard is pounded into the ground
but today we lost an F-18 and we got a Blackhawk down
    - The General says "the dagger's pointed at the heart of the regime"
    - Iraqui leaders say they're better than they seem
but we know that Saddam Fedayeem is almost gone

    April 3rd

    Now we're into the airport
it looks like this is sort of their last resort
at least that's how it seems from reports
-Now were 12 miles from town
we don't know what they'll be throwing down
since they know they're going down

    April 4th

    -They say "expect something non-conventional"
but they say not biological or chemical

    April 5th

The army drove through Bagdhad today
    - and faced no resistance on their way
It doesn't seem they're even fighting anymore
and it's strange to think that this could be the end of the war

    April 6th

    - We don't know how the battle in the city will progress
    - they do their best to deal with these issues in the press
    - and how Iraq will be run when we get to the end
and whether it will be their government or if we will send
    - someone from outside to come in and start the rebuilding
    - we've got to do it right 'cause we don't want someone wielding
    - the power of a king since that could start this whole thing
    over again.

    April 7th

Today we set up camp in two of Saddam's presidential palaces
    - it seems that many locals are supportive and malice is
steadily declining as we keep arriving in Iraq.
But today some people died in a missle attack.

    April 8th

-In 12 minutes there bombing a leadership meeting
-We're not sure Saddam's dead but it seems like we're succeeding
-The place is leveled and we think that the regime is gone
-but theres still fighting even though it's not coming as strong.

    April 9th

-In the town statues and murals are knocked down
We still don't have it locked down
some people at the university shot rounds
-at the coalition as they passed by
-it's crazy how still people are willing to die

    April 10th

like the guy who did a suicide bombing attack today
and wounded four marines even though most Iraqui's say
-they're glad we came to remove this crazy leadership and dictator
people taking tables, desks, chairs, and refrigerators
    from government offices and factories
-We've got to set up police and curb the anarchy
-that has arisen because the authorities are missing
and it seems their wishing that we will fulfil our mission
    to restore decision and control
    back to the people
-so they can get on with their living

    April 11th

next day, hundreds of soldiers are giving up and walking home
-the roads are filled with those ex-soldiers who never condoned
-the battles that they were compelled to fight in
some kids die at a checkpoint because their van drove right in
-without stopping for the guards - that will certainly leave scars
on the parents and the soldiers who were in that situation
-the Pentagon is trying to establish new relations
playing cards are issued of the most wanted officials

    April 12th

the science minister is one, he gives up, and we hear about missles
-that are hidden in the area but then it gets scarier
-as one is found that seems to hold a suspicous round
-it could be nerve agent or some other chemical compound

    April 13th

-Today all 7 war prisoners are found
-they seem ok and the news shows them all walking around

    April 14th

the next day we move into Tikrit
-we discover biological labs buried discretely
-it seems like we have defeated the
remaining fighters and stop the rioters
and looters from ruining the residences
-we set up volunteer police to work until a president is
elected to oversee the new free people
and then we hope that we don't have a third gulf war sequel.
