    Story Behind the Song
'Canyon's Wedding', concieved in the spirit of the ol' folk-tale, is a romantic story about two young lovers who want to marry but are unable to afford the lot. As the tale goes: the lad journies afar to make his fortune while promising to return but, after several years of being away, the las begins to believe that he has met an unfortunate demise. Eventually, she is offered another proposal by a new lad and, although she accepts, she decides to make one last effort to summon her beau by sending a wish to a falling star to find him and bring his safe return. On the day that she is to be married to the new lad she waits at the special spot beneath the falls of Ivy where her and her love would once go. She waits even as the wedding party grows restless. Finally, as she decides her love is truly gone, she turns to climb the path to where the groom awaits. Just then her beau appears and together they climb the path to greet the wedding party on the day of Canyon's wedding.

    Lyrics
The sun came calling with a mighty flash on the wake of daylight breaking
The split-tails dancing by the rivergrass and the sounds of life cascading
He kept his promise to the falling star with the baren moon left waiting
And made his way, last, to the hills of Ire for the day of Canyon's wedding

It felt good standing in the tepid dew in the early morning's rising
The white kites playing in a sky of blue with their feathered skirts behind them
He picked blue flowers from the mountain side and them a thousand miles he carried
The road was rocky but the breeze was mild on the day of Canyon's wedding

    Something old, something new
    Something borrowed and blue
    Canyon's wedding

Canyon's calling and sent her star a falling
Canyon's waiting and sent her heart to follow you
Kiss her sweetly beneath the falls of Ivy
    Canyon's wedding

He felt her watch him on the day he left like a thousand eyes a staring
She made him promise he'd be back again for this love they would be sharing
The years got older as the days got lent like the fields of green behind him
And finds her waiting by the river-bend on the day of Canyon's wedding
