Light hearted look at an obsessive personality. The number 9 is taken from the Beatles cryptic utterance and is only a ball park figure. Trust me, I'm way beyond 9 by now.

Credits: Beth Robinson (vocal, guitar) Joe Heinemann (Wurlitzer) Doug Blumer, Patrick Conway (Harmony)

    Story Behind the Song
I took music theory lessons for a couple of years and most of the practise involved playing each chord from the major scale ... CM7, Dm7, Em7, FM7, G7, Am7, Bm7b5. Yup. Over and over in all different fingerings and keys and all up and down the neck. I needed to spice it up a little to keep from getting bored. So I also call this song Nina's Song in honor of my teacher.

    Lyrics
Some people have their little hobbies
Relaxing things they like to do
I never take my leisure lightly
I find one thing and I pursue
I'm always looking for the answers
The questions change as time goes by
What used to always give me pleasure
    Now fails to even satisfy
    I think I'm on my 9th Obsession
I guess it's time for keeping score
I point myself in one direction
Don't want to go where I've been before
As I try to find the perfect expression
    To sooth my mind
And light up a fire in my soul
Well you may say I have no future
I missed my bus some years ago
And you may say I'll never make it
Your light says stop but mine says go
    I think I'm on my 10th Obsession
I never go just half way there
Where other people use their discretion
I say to hell with it I just don't care
As I try to find the one true expression
    To sooth my mind
And light up a fire in my soul
