Story Behind the Song
Easily the most meaningful parody I had written as of October 2002 when I wrote it, the first two people who heard it cried. . .It hits down at the heart of those who are gay or are close to someone who is gay such as friends or family.
Lyrics
Look at me, you may think you see who I really am, but you'll never know me
Everday it's as if I play a part
Now I see, if I walk like that, I can fool the world, but I cannot fool my heart
Who is that boy I see
Standing right next to me
I wish I could show him now, how I feel inside
Staring now, at a guy but trying not to fail my part, buddy makes me so hard, but some how, I will show the world what's inside my heart, no one should give a crap.
Who is that boy I see
now staring back at me
Why can't love be respected by all who seek
Must I pretend that I look at boobs not at guys, when will my refelection show, my rainbow inside
There's a door that has no key, open's life
A guy with a need to grow out of his lie
Why must my kind conceal who they love, or how they feel, must there be a closet we must hide behind
I won't pretend that I'm someone else for all time, when will my reflection show my rainbow inside
When will my reflection show my rainbow inside
