Story Behind the Song
The music was initially inspired by one single line coming from nowhere: 'I will never ever fall in love again', but the final composing was done under guidance of Dr. Jamie Henke, my UW-MADISON music teacher.
The goal was to compose a piece that included simultaneously increasing tension and excitement and started with clear contrast in solo instruments that though in the peek moment was melted together into perfect harmony.
The arrangement of the 'You're a part of me / I will never ever fall in love again' song is made of several parts or building blocks. The contrasting instruments are a 'male' steel guitar and a 'female' soft alto saxophone.
The arrangement of parts is as follows:
1. The 'male steel guitar' starts with telling the 'sax lady' that he loves her.
2. The sax lady responds and says 'I will never ever fall in love again'
3. Then comes the part I use in the end as the high peek part, but here it is a single solo of the sax lady saying 'You're a part of me'
4. The male guitar comes again with slightly increased velocity and repeats to the sax lady that he loves her.
5. The sax lady repeats she will unlikely fall in love again, but the male guitar is now touching her already, but tenderly.
6. In the 'You're a part of me' part the male guitar is now playing with the sax lady but still in the background.
7. The male guitar comes again with his 'I love you' part but now he is become excited (I try to use rising velocity of the string orchestra plus 15% higher velocity of the male guitar plus adding a light riding cembal plus repeating the part once, to underline that)
8. The sax lady now says 'I cannot resist to fall in love again' and the male guitar keep on touching her tenderly suported by the rising velocity of the strings.
9. And now comes the high peek part where they are definatly singing together the 'You're a part of me' part supported by the strings and light riding cembal.
10. The 'You're a part of me' part is then repeted several times fading out, but it should be obvios when the last note is reached that the weekness of the sax lady is stonger than her intention of 'never ever fall in love again' and they definetly reach the peek moment together.
Thanks for listening!

Lyrics
You're a part of me.
(Steel guitar intro)
Sax Lady:
I will never ever fall in love again
I gave you everything there was to share
The glow of love you left inside will still remain
When all is gone and you will not be there
You're a part of me and so will always be
In the end of time, I know we will be free
Steel guitar:
I love you so, can't let you go, I love you so my dear
Sax Lady:
I thought I would never fall in love again
Some how your love sang into my heart
When you then appeared in front of me, I knew
Your love was true and we would never part
You're a part of me and so will always be
In the end of time, I know we will be free
Steel guitar:
I love you so, can't let you go, I love you so my dear
I do love you, my love is true, I'll spend my life with you
Sax lady:
I cannot resist to fall in love again
When I feel your love and tenderness
While again you're holding me close to you
I am sensing every sweet caress
Together:
Sax Lady: You're a part of me and so will always be
Steel guitar: I love you so, can't let you go
Sax Lady: In the end of time, I know we will be free
Steel guitar: I do love you, my love is true
Repeated, fading out.......
