A beat, an amateur guitarist, a recorder from 4th grade, a plinky plonk piano, and randomly selected passages from the newspaper. |

Story Behind the Song
Martin invented the piano part, Dave played the three chords he knows on guitar, I broke out my mad recorder skills. We chose a beat. I told them to pick numbers below 30, and counted that number of paragraphs down the editorial page, then chose the best sentence in that paragraph. We made up melodies on the spot, I filled in the breakdown later, and that was that. A little electronic tomfoolery.
Lyrics
-Names with new ideas
-It's time to stop pretending
-Somebody's at the door
-Ease of tension
-Satisfy its aims
-Less impact
-Years or even decades
-Having said that, there's no question the cost
-Can we agree to share the tab?
-Driven by religious fervour
