our most hardcore song ever. really, it's just a metal song. I won't lie. also, it's supposed to be called "My Suicide Note Is Written In Your Handwriting" but that wouldn't fit in the little box. |
CD: unreleased
Label: independently released
Credits: Matt LeFevers and Forgetting Forever |
Story Behind the Song
I scribbled this on the back of a piece of paper all at once while I was at work, without even looking at what I was writing. It came out at band practice one day and within minutes, Tom and I had this song; it kind of just all fell together.
~Matt
Lyrics
please, please
this distance is killing me
a sickness in my lungs
I need you like the air I breathe
and my body cries for oxygen
do you know what this is doing to me?
(and if you did, would you still care?)
please, please
if you ever loved me
don't let it end like this (not like this)
I pray and pray that you still love me
I pray and pray that you still care
I pray and pray that this will pass
please let this pass
but nothing changes
the phone still silent
nothing but those haunting words (no messages, no messages, no messages no messages)
like poison to my ears
a death that whispers
(she doesn't love you, she never loved you, did you really think she ever cared)
did you?
the antidote is out of reach
the antidote is just out of reach
it's grasped within your fingers
and I'll choke on my last breath with one thought in my mind
that you could have saved me
and you let me die
