A warm, mellow, bitter-sweet tune with lyrics worth listening to.

    Story Behind the Song
I wrote this tune to take our band in a slightly new direction. It's folkier than most of our songs. Everybody in the group immediately like the song because all the parts just fell into place. It's fun to play. I think the whole tune took one or two takes. The band played live and I added the vox later that day.

    Lyrics
    The silver tongue is sayin'
It's past the time for playin'
The winner wins and lets the loser say good-bye.

I'm down but I'm not out when,
    I feel my will collapsin'
When nothin's left the thought of your face is keeping me alive

Eyes are all upon you- to see through
Smiles that lie and hide the real truth- within you
If you would call on me to shield you
I could rise to take up all the arms that tie you....

    (CHORUS)
    Down
To the bottom of your ocean
In the darkness, and hold all your breath
Feel the motion of the current pulling you down
    Pulling you down

If all these nights were stolen
How is it we were growin' old
Together cast in chains where we choose to remain

You didn't go I let you
Or did you just forget to
Walk away the door was there- I thought you had to go

Eyes are all upon you- to see through
Smiles that lie and hide the real truth- within you
If you would call on me to shield you
I could rise to take up all the arms that tie you....

    (CHORUS)
    Down
To the bottom of your ocean
In the darkness, and hold all your breath
Feel the motion of the current pulling you down
    Pulling you down
    (CHORUS)
