Enouragement to not get too set in our ways as we grow a bit older, but rather to keep searching, ever searching, for deeper meaning and insights in our lives.

    Story Behind the Song
Like most songs I write, it just started as a guitar riff that I liked and expanded on. I think I liked the guitar riff on Bruce Cockburn's "Silver Wheels," and just spun it off from that.

Some of the lyrics employ metaphors from the Baha'i Faith, which was my spiritual "home" for many years. It describes the first "valley" or stage in the journey of the soul as being one of Search, and that to progress, one must find the courage to detach from all prior knowledge and belief, "trusting" that answers to our questions, and our quest, can be found. I love this concept of questioning, and it inspired the song. I hope you like it.

    Lyrics
    WONDER OF THE WORLD

    1. Did you ever find an answer for
All those questions you used to ask
Wonders of the world you wondered about

You're a strong one, the surviving kind
And you've come so far but somehow something's left behind
You should be reaching for the stars
Now you won't even reach out to me
And your questions now you just keep to yourself
Is it too late to wonder now

    Just forget what you've learned
What you think you know is just holding you from your heart's desire
Go back to the valley of search you abandoned
To the seven hills that keep you climbing higher

    2. Must be a million stars out tonight
We're never gonna reach in this life even the closest one
But they shine so bright for you

What kind of love song does it take to shake
What kind of metaphor can open the eye
Close your eyes and see beyond your dream
Past the veil of your experience
Through the darkness of your doubt
Then detach yourself from heaven and earth
And immerse your soul in the ocean of search
May your wonder then return to you
The wonder of the worlds of God
    The wonder of the world

    Just forget what you've learned
What you think you know is just holding you from your heart's desire
Go back to the valley of search you abandoned
To the seven hills that keep you climbing higher
