	Story Behind the Song I wrote this song when I got to college in College Park, Maryland. The first week was ridiculously difficult for lots of reasons, and I wasn't really happy at all. And after a few weeks I realized that home really is the best place to be, but everything-even college-gets a little bit better with time. Lyrics I never knew how beautiful my life could be Where everyone I love and trust promises to stay close to me When you lack nothing and you have it all it’s not so hard To forget that you could not have asked for anything more But I know now and I see now what matters here That you’ve raised me and you’ve taught me that being nice means everything Growing up and moving on I’m told will be Full of risk and only fun and liberating But what is this? I long for home and anything That brings me back to who I love and familiarity But you told me and you warned me this would happen And I miss you and understand what you really meant- I see what you mean, I see It’s so empty here And they don’t understand the kind of people we knew there But I know now and I see now that home is home And here’s good and they’re good here and everything will be ok.
