	Story Behind the Song motivation: hmm...well, it had been a while since i wrote a good rock tune...so it was time. meaning of lyrics: it initially was supposed to be about what it's like to go to your favorite places without your friends/loved ones...and how it's not as fun. but then, it started sounding a little sappy...so i threw in the "end of the world" theme, and that fixed everything. then, for good measure, i threw in the sappy original idea in the bridge. where was it written: right here baby, sitting at my desk looking into the icelandic ocean how long to write: one day how long to record: a three day marathon how many takes: ridiculous Lyrics stratosphere there goes the sun there goes the sun it disappears forever everyone they try to run but it's no use cause it's all over i guess i'll see you on the other side (friend of mine) we'll pick right up from where we left off here into the stratosphere they built a plane they built this plane it flies through space designed to save us but we can't go no we can't go cause i've been told there's not room enough i guess i'll see you on the other side (love of mine) we'll pick right up from where we left off here into the stratosphere yesterday i walked around pasadena near old town and it was not the same it was not the same later on i had a bite to eat restaurant on 2nd street but it was not the same it was not the same i guess you'll see me on the other side we'll pick right up from where we left off here into the stratosphere we'll take my car we'll drive it far away from here we'll just keep on into the stratosphere
