Story Behind the Song
I was working a job as a Bank Teller at the time(1989-90), not making much money and taking a fair amount of guff a fair amount of the time, so this song was a means of 'airing out' a few things. It's not meant to be making any kind of Big Statement or anything. As you can probably hear, it's pretty heavily influenced by Frank Zappa- tho I hope of course that it still sounds like me.
Lyrics
Fast food automaton
the workaday world must go on, be a
fast food automaton
the workaday world- must go on.
We sit in little jars
serving people in their cars
they're lined up all the way to Mars.
be it Home, Office, Disco, you name it
Home, Office, Disco, you name it
the workaday world- must go on.
We're happy fast encoders
pooting through the day
making people happy
the servomat way.
(thank you, thank you, thank you..)
the artificiality of
Robot hospitality
it really has me up a tree-
Fast food automaton
the workaday world must go on, be a
fast food automaton
the workaday world- must go on.
They're making a list
they're taking a poll
step out of line and they'll
mix you in a bowl
THE ULTIMATE PRICE IS:
automatic mind control--(aaugh!)
Fast food automaton
the workaday world must go on
fast food automaton
the workaday world must go on.
