Story Behind the Song
It took about an hour to write this song in my home studio. It was inspired by the loneliness that prevails within our high-tech society, and is aimed at women in particular. All this high speed stuff cannot suffice the urge to love and be loved. I sang all the parts and all instruments and percussion (except drum machine) in about 8 hours.
Lyrics
High Speed No One

Brian Brewer - Copyright 2001
Phone in my ear, fax in my lap
Email sailin' through some high-speed jack
There's nothin' wrong with my telephone
So why don't you call me?
Why don't you call me?
**************************************
Chorus:
You don't always, get what you want
But you can always, leave when you want
*************************************
Clean off the desk, forget about the load
Jump in the car and go flyin' down the road
My radio don't always wanna go
But my heart's like a symphony
My heart's like a symphony
*************************************
Repeat Chorus:
*************************************
Bridge: (bluesy change in pace)
She's just a girl, alone in the world
Just waiting for someone, to love her
High speed this, and high speed that
It ain't no cure,
Can't pull good lovin' from a hat
The days turn to years, a lifetime of tears
Without that someone, to love her
She's just a high speed no one
The fastest to nowhere
If empty were full, she wouldn't have no cares
********************************************
Phone in my ear, fax in my lap
Email sailin' through some high-speed jack
There's nothin' wrong with my telephone
So why don't you call me?
Why don't you call me?
