Story Behind the Song
The motivation for the tune was my psychotic neighbors & a big fat toad. Couldn't think of what to call it so there ya go! The song was written in my basement. Pretty inspiring place to write, but it could be worse. Took about 2-3 hours to write this thing. Probably about a week to record. Pretty much just one takes on all of the tracks except for the guitar solo. Took a few times through & I still don't like it but I've got other stuff to work on.
Lyrics
TOADSTOOL
I want you to just to disappear
I watch you drowning in your fear
Take your pain, all your envy for my ways
Stand alone, every eye, every day
Caught you in a lie, now you hide behind your wall of shame
Now you can’t deny, even though you try
‘Til you see that it’s just not breakin’ me down
Take your place, at the table of disgrace
Play your hand, I’ll be watching as you plan
Everything, every word, all you do
Tell your tale, sink it in, to be told
Think you got away with another rumor filled tirade
You’ll be flying high, in a sunless sky
‘Til you see that it’s still not takin’ me down
You rely, on your guilty twisted tongue
Never mind, never tasted, never owned
Now you better pray, there will come a day, when you’re not alone
Even though we cry every night in our sleep
But you see that it’s still not takin’ me down
