Story Behind the Song
The Domestic Disturbance Song. Based on an actual kitchen grease fire that happened a few years ago, the song really deals with the inevitable rocky times couples face when they live together or are married. Although I don't always feel like this, there are times when I'm like: if you don't like who I am, leave. And you know what? There are times when my mate feels the same way.
Lyrics
If you can't stand the heat
Then get out of the kitchen
(repeat once)
Well you know a grease fire's burnin'
Better leave before it's too late
Well girl I told you once
And girl I told you twice
But you're not the kind of girl
Who likes to take advice
CHORUS
Well I smell that oil a burnin'
Better leave before it's too late
Well girl can't you see
That livin' here with me
Is many, many, many, many things
And none of them easy
CHORUS
Well that cloud of smoke is churnin'
Better leave before it's too late
And oh, by the way
I got one more thing to say
Living with you is no walk in the park
In the merry, merry month of May
CHORUS
Well the whole house is on fire
Better leave before it's too late
It's too late
