Story Behind the Song
Sometimes love can blind you to the point where you will believe almost anything about someone you love. I wanted to write a song that described how it feels when the magic wears off and you finally see a person for who that person really is. I wrote the song in my living room, where I write pretty much all of my songs, in about a half hour. I recorded it in about twelve hours over five sessions.
Lyrics
Between The Lines
By Michael Branella
Verse 1
Well your picture perfect life is here
For everyone who wants to steal
A moment of your precious time
Until they're knee deep in your lies
Thank you very much you said
How could you think that I'd forget
Don't sweat it now, 'cause I'm alright
Much better than, you'd be surprised
In a little while, if you really pay attention, you will notice I'm no longer there
Chorus
I don't wanna be the one to tear you up
I don't wanna be the person, who makes you quit your job
I don't wanna be the one who leaves you scarred all over
But I'm a really dangerous person, now that I can see the lines...see the lines
Verse 2
You could've told me from the start
I probably would've said that's fine
But all you did was sneak around
With every lowlife you could find
So now you want me in your life
you say you've changed, well that's a laugh
I'm sorry that you feel this pain
But baby you just get one chance
Chorus
I don't wanna be the one to tear you up
I don't wanna be the person, who makes you quit your job
I don't wanna be the one who leaves you scarred all over
But I'm a really dangerous person, now that I can see the lines...see the lines
Bridge
Well you know I really missed you for a time, but my cryin' days are over
Now I'm movin' on and everything is fine...just fine
Altro
Now that I can see the lines (twice)
I can read between the lines
