    Story Behind the Song
Always write what you know, so what better than my own life. Lyrics written 13 years ago then when we got a new piano at the house last year. It's one of the first songs I've ever written on piano. Recorded at Legacy Studios.

    Lyrics
    Walk Alone
    (p.kelly)

Was a long time ago in 1975
when we left our dad and the drink in his eyes
We were taught to be strong, keep our shoulder's back
our head up high and never look back.

A man at the house at the age of 13
A bit young for some but, it wasn't for me
I knew what I wanted and wanted it then
It seemed the world had forgotten to be my friend

Still I keep my friendship with pride
    And will until I die
And I'll never have to...Walk Alone

My brother is strong and so he shall be
Smaller than some, yet taller than me
Sweetness they say, shines in his eyes
He'll comfort the world if it wants to cry
A mother of two my sister has been
Since the day she turned the age of eighteen
She beckons the words of our mother at times
She's scared as hell and shows it sometimes.

Yet they keep their friendship with pride
    And will until they die
And they'll never have to...walk alone

Children we'll have and we'll love them too
We'll stand by their side, whatever they do
We'll teach them right, for wrong they will know
And something that my mother has told

    Keep your friendship with pride
    Until the day you die
And you'll never have to...walk alone.
