	Story Behind the Song I wrote “Fire and Hope” the day after Sept 11th 2001. I was not directly affected by the tragedy. I didn’t lose any close relative or dear friends although I do have close friends and relatives that live in Manhattan and the surroundings communities. I was one of the people jamming up the phone lines to see if everyone I knew was still alive. Fortunately everyone survived physically but the emotional; scars are still healing. Those who were directly affected and those who experienced a virtual tragedy are still mourning that day in public and private ways. I wrote this song when I didn’t really have time to process any information or my feelings, so I see the song as a direct expression of my subconscious mind at the time of the tragedy. The song literally came out of the ether. I realize that everyone’s experience was different and some people think that any artistic expression of the event trivializes the tragedy. As an artist I feel I have a right to express my pure conciseness and offer it up. This is my offering. This is my song. Peace.
