Darkwave/Trip-Hop
"Inside this hardened shell,
behind this treachorous heart,
their lies a soulfull flawless white dove.
It's not a cage of steel,
more like a house of cold.
It stays inside to save itself from all the pain of the world." |

Story Behind the Song
This is my explination of why myslef and people I know act the way we do: were Sheltering ourselves from the cruelties of the outside world. To me, gothic and darkside culture is a very internal way of life. Dark colors are not very transparent, make-up covers up what we don't want people to see. Although I don't personal ascribe to body peircing, but it again, is a shadow of what lies underneath our souls.
Our culture is to intelligent to understand britney spears or the backstreet boys. We were the ones who understood slim shady's joke, some of us even chuckled along.
Lyrics
Inside this hardened shell,
behind this treachorous heart,
there lies a soulfull flawless white dove.
It's not a cage of steel,
more like a house of cold.
It stays inside to save itself from all the pain of the world.
A rule I've placed upon my heart:
Take nothing for granted, and it won't fall apart.
If innocence comes shining through,
hide it from outside, or life will swallow you.
I swear I must admit I
believe lifes fatal gift is:
There's inspiration in beauty.
Stare into nature's prize and,
you will be hypnotized and,
there will nothing to protect you from the pain of the world.
A rule I've placed upon my heart:
take nothing forgranted, and it wont fall apart.
If innocence comes shining through,
hide it from the outside, or life will swallow you.
shelter feeling
protect being
