This song is about breaking away from those things that have control over you. It's all about "grabbing the wheel and steering it on your own".
CD: Poison In A Glass, Poetry To My Ears   Label: Escondido, CA
Credits: Lyrics written by Brandon Turner, Music written and performed by Parkhurst: Daniel Zivkovich (drums) Brandon Turner (guitar) Loniel Robinson (bass) Kyle Oakland (guitar) Steve Parks (vocals), Lyrics performed by Steve Parks, Recorded by Goblin Studios.

    Story Behind the Song
The lyrics were influenced by the decision for the guitarist Brandon, and drummer Daniel to move out of their houses into an apartment to live On Their Own. And well hell... Steve just had these natural feelings, he didn't need motivation. We were just thinkin forget working 9-5 everyday just to barely survive (even though brandon and daniel gotta do that since they moved out). Check the radio list for this song in the future!!

    Lyrics
There seems to be no way,
When your living the life controlled by someone else,
Why does it seem the same,
    Everyday is fuckin lame,
Working the 9 to 5 for the same low pay,

    Everything is blurry again,
    The walls are caving in,
And soon I will break away from this bond that won't keep holding me in,
    Your now behind me,
Your out of sight and out of mind,
You call my name, you want me back, but it's too late, I've already packed,

What I know, I am over you,
I am grabbing the wheel and I steer it on my own,
On a crash course trying to make it home

    Day by day,
    You just push me away,
But I always end up on higher ground,
And I am grabbing the wheel,
And I steer it on my own,
On a crash course trying to make it home

    Everything is blurry again,
    The walls are caving in,
And soon I will break away from this bond that won't keep holding me in,
This is the end my friend so say your goodbye's,
Do not worry we will meet again,
    In the end

    I can tell,
I can make it on my own,
    If you would only try,
You do not need me by your side
