#1 Guitar Rock track at AcidPlanet.com-- This is a collaboration between songwriter / guitarist LonelyWolf and us, wrapped around his sweeping original and accented with a western feel. "All praise to this arrangement... the interplay between all the guitars in this guitar-soaked anthem to ennui... Hats off to both of you... well-arranged, hauntingly and soulfully played and sung." --The Farfetched Tangmo Band --"Man, that guitar lead gives me chills... piercing notes right thru my head. Raw brilliance... honest, heartfelt art." Digital Critters --"Between you,
believe me,I really enjoyed...semi-folk, semi-country, and rock... LonelyWolf's amazing... and Dark Ryders I think you are powerful and talented songwriter... also the vocal (who is he?) inspired me. It has really special charisma, I think... so I give all this special duo/group 10 stars.(A+)" --Cémil / Antalya

Story Behind the Song
This is a collaboration featuring LonelyWolf:

and his fine compositions and recordings may be heard at the above address. The first time I heard his original "Looking Back" I saw an entire contemporary remake of EASY RIDER in my mind's eye, and Paul let me take the lead, expand on the lyrics a bit, and set the song in an imaginary soundtrack--
SCENE: LONELY WOLF and the DARK RYDER are having a conversation with the RUNAWAY GIRLS after dropping them off on the empty street in rural Texas. Tight shot on the empty street during the conversation cuts to high pan shot as the bikers are seen heading west. Music over: "Looking Back (Fire In The Hills)".
This was a lot of fun-- Thanks Paul! --SG

"This is definitely soundtrack material. The vibe has been captured. A biker on his way out of town all alone and with a heavy heart. Misunderstood by all. A killer job guys. Well written, well performed. It all came together real well!" hard rain / Cincinnati OH
Lyrics
Looking Back (Fire In The Hills)
What is this that I've become?
I sit here staring at the sun
The days go by, I waste away
As sunset dies on darkening day
I should have listened, but I didn't care-- the wind was blowing through my hair
Now weeks go by, I waste away
Where all my dreams have gone astray...
What is this that I've become?
I sit here staring at the sun
Months come and go, I waste away
While blood-red sunsets fade to gray
Fade to gray--
Twilight--
Then darkness
I felt my life had just begun
Now my time is almost done
Years bleed past, as I fade away--
Got nothing left to say
Nothing left to say--
Twilight--
Then darkness...
