	Story Behind the Song I was motivated to write this song when I received a telephone call to work on The Alamo by Touchstone Pictures. The lyrics are based mostly on legendary accounts with a few historical accounts mixed in. I wrote the song this way because I had no idea what was actually written in the script. The song only took about fifteen minutes to write and it was recorded in one take because it was all I could afford.
