Story Behind the Song
This was written based off of a relationship, and I then tried to relate it to everyone and put a little message behind it. Basically sayin' life is too short for all the games, the bottom line is that you just wanna luv somebody and be loved. I record @ home until my gigs afford me enough money to go into a studio. It's very difficult for me to record @ times. Depending on how many musical parts I have, this limits the amount of tracks I can play on my computer due to a long overdue need to upgrade. Most times I have to sing acapella and then piece it together with the musical parts. I usually nail my takes in 1 to 3 takes and that's because I like everything right on the money or in the pocket, and sometimes my computer messes up the recordings from lagging or digital delay problems. I used a fender p-bass, a gibson-l6 for guitar, a juno 6 keyboard, rebirth for drums and a classical guitar for this recording. The intro and 1st verse for this song just happened one day while playin' around on the guitar. I just started playin' and singin' it just as you here it. I then added the other verses and the bridge is more of just a descending bassline off the main groove.
Lyrics
yes we fight
yes we scream
but i don't mean
none of those things
i just wanna luv u
i've lied to you
you've lied to me too
why can't we
live with the truth
i just wanna luv u
can't let friends get in the way
or what family might say
with you i want to spend
the rest of my days
i just wanna luv u
that's all i want
life's too short
for all the games we play
let's not waste no time
let's cherish all our time
a day, a year, a century
really doesn't matter to me
they're all just moments in time
moments of your luv
moments of mine
