Story Behind the Song
This song used to be fairly mundane and boring, until we turned into a ska punk band, which seemed to change most of our songs. I have no idea what the lyrics mean as I didn't write them, but they seem to be about hitting puberty and turning into a general slob. Recorded in about 3 takes (I think anyway, it was a few months ago) and obviously with extra guitar tracks overdubbed as we're a 3-piece. The original, poor, rock/punk version took about an hour to write, not including lyrics (we dont hang about, us), but in the last year the main guitar part must have been changed about 3 or 4 times into what it is now.
Lyrics
What is this that lies ahead?
What are these thoughts inside my head?
Daytime TV and messed up hair: This is my life, the pit of despair.
(Chorus)
Boredom, cast a shadow over me x4
An outlet is a distant dream,
where opportunity reigns supreme.
But the horizon seems way too far,
and I know that is where you are
Chorus
Tapping guitar solo
