Story Behind the Song
This song deals with a very personal, very private issue of depression and how it can rip a family apart. Dealing with it on a day in, day out basis, and not knowing what to do can be utterly exhausting and overwhelming. Anyone who has loved someone with this disease can relate to these lyrics. If you have it, this song will ring true to you on many levels. I wrote this about my relationship with my ex-wife and how her depression affected our marriage. I tried to write from the perspective of both people, so you can see some interplay lyrically. Some emotions were shared, some not. This is a very personal song to me.
Depression is a major factor in our lives, whether we choose to admit it or not. We should all be aware of it's symptoms and what it can be capable of. Gone unchecked, it has tremendous power, not unlike a raging fire. It is something that should not be ignored.

Lyrics
V 1)
On broken ground, they carry me
Feel the darkness closing in
I'm wrapped and floating, in tranquility
Medicated, sedated, I hate it
V 2)
I used to live, the better life
And then I met you, you took it all away
Pre-Chorus)
Crazed and helpless, I ran away
in every way
tell me
Chorus)
What goes on, behind locked doors
Damage done, behind locked doors
What goes on, behind locked doors
Am I lost, behind locked doors
V 3)
Chemical illusion
have I lost my mind
Just a number, in my cell my living hell
Time to say goodbye
