Story Behind the Song
On one of the many occasions in 1996 when I got to sing Shree, one of my
favourite ragas, I did an elaborate alap. When I do that, my style is
in the middle ground between classic dhrupad-style nomtom and typical
khyal singer's alap. In this middle portion of alap, both influences are
equally apparent.
