A long, sad song about the lonliest job there is...
    CD: Songs for the Bedridden

    Story Behind the Song
This song has four parts, each one a theme on the previous. They chronicle the different stages in the life of a retired, widower janitor who has only one friend--his broom. He has worked for over 60 years in an elementary school and has seen almost 4 generations of children go through, but he has not spoken to a single soul in a long time. The administration simply lets him do his job, but doesn't know he has already broken down years ago and is now living in his own subconscious world on the moon, sweeping the endless amount of dust, searching for the elusive "moon gold," a precious space metal he believes is buried.
