Story Behind the Song
This song was written almost two years ago, but only recently have i had the opportunity to perform it with a band.
The lyrics have been through some pretty big changes over the years and are now almost completely unrecognisable from the original recording i did. It was recorded in a barn.
Lyrics
V1
You saw the grass you felt the rain, but what you really needed was a change.
You took the ground and filled in a grave, made the headstone and managed to walk away.
V2
Did you watch the young boy carve out his name, it’s been there a long time since that day.
Why didn’t you talk about that fateful day, things really could have been different if you just tried to change.
Chorus
So the days they all seem the same, but just remember somehow it’s all a game
Someone somewhere will miss you when your gone, so keep on trying and always carry on.
V4
He doesn’t want to stay, he felt the love yesterday and doesn’t think he’ll feel the same way again.
Can we tell him where to hide this pain, somewhere where he’ll never have to see it’s go damned ugly face again.
Rpt Chorus
V5
What about the flowers and the fun old days, they may have been far between but they never felt that way back then.
We all need a holiday, somewhere that the sun shines down on all that stand underneath it’s rays.
Rpt chorus X2
