    Story Behind the Song
Um... the motivation for the song was my church friends turning their backs on me because of a rumor an ex was spreading about me. I felt that if my christian friends were so willing to turn their backs on me then there must not be a God. I still don't know if I believe in a God or not, but this song is about how you can't rely on your friends to bring you back to where you need to be, whether it's with God, or just back to your old self.

    Lyrics
    Don't say it again
    My friend
    We're not that close anymore
    Don't say it again
    My friend

    I saw you
    I saw you
    Turn your back on me
    I watched you
    Turn your back on love
    I saw you
    I saw you
    Falling to your knees
    I watched you
    Pray to God above

    Don't say it again
    My friend
You lost that right long ago
    Don't say it again
    My friend

    I felt you
    I felt you
    Stab me in the back
    I heard you
    Try and justify
    I felt you
    I felt you
    Reaching out for love
    I heard you
    Asking yourself why
    Why

But he can't help you now
Like he could not help you then
It's something you have to do by yourself
So get up off your ass
And get up off your knees
And take these feelings off the shelf
    He won't help me now
Like he would not help me then
It's something I have to do on my own
So get up off my back
I'll get up off my knees
And try to find my way home

    I saw you
    I saw you
    Turn your back on me
    I watched you
    Turn your back on love
    I felt you
    I felt you
    Reaching out for God
    I heard you
    Asking yourself why
    Why but don't

    Don't say it again
    My friend
    Don't say it again
    My friend
    Don't ever
    Don't ever
    Don't you ever say it
    Never say it
    Don't say it again
    My friend
