Becca and I wrote a country song. It was surprisingly fun.
Credits: written and performed by Becca Worthington and Zach Sands

    Story Behind the Song
For a mock country song, it sounds amazingly legitimate. Becca wrote most of the lyrics, and I threw down my best old-school country riff. Not bad for a few hours worth of work, expecially considering the amount of alcohol we had in our systems by the end. It almost seemed like a necessary ingredient.

    Lyrics
Finished off the bottle and threw it in the fire
Wondered if I'd ever sober up
My liver's shot to shitbeans, my heart is gosh-dern tired
So I staggered from my front porch into my truck

In my sixty-seven Chevy pickup truck
    Carrying this heart-worn heavy load
I'm all out of whiskey and I'm down on my luck
Love is rougher than a gravel road

Pulled in at the local watering hole
Got myself a cold one at the bar
Kept thinkin' of my honey and that heart he stole
Left me with a dog and a big ol' scar

In my sixty-seven Chevy pickup truck
    Carrying this heart-worn heavy load
I'm all out of whiskey and I'm down on my luck
Love is rougher than a gravel road

Somehow found me on a darkened street without no sign
The radio was playing our song
And holy hell hot damn, I'm surely wishin' you were mine
Can't believe you've been gone for so long

In my sixty-seven Chevy pickup truck
    Carrying this heart-worn heavy load
I'm all out of whiskey and I'm down on my luck
Love is rougher than a gravel road
Yeah, love is rougher than a gravel road...

    (Yee-hah)
