Story Behind the Song
We've all had conversations like this, right?
"Dude, what if what you see as green, is like, yellow to me?" "Woah, far out..."
Yeah, so that's what this song is about, and I hope we never find the answers to these questions. They're fun.
Lyrics
What if your orange was what I saw as blue?
We'd have to check on what was really true.
And what if our sources were just as unsure?
We'd never know. Our crayons would be a blur.
What if your left was what I held as right?
It'd all be wrong - we'd better stay inside.
Chorus:
I don't know what I'm talking about,
but can we pretend that it's important?
I just want to have something to say
but all these meanings get in the way.
I don't know what I'm talking about,
but can we pretend that it's important?
What if I'm someone else's point of view?
Who would it be? What if it's actually you?
And what if one day the world just wasn't there?
We'd have to move. We can't live in the air.
What if this song did not truly exist?
What is this noise? What force is causing this?
Repeat Chorus
(We're not born as dictionies,
we don't need to be so correct.
I don't really care about the concepts.)
