Story Behind the Song
The grandchild of escaped Nazi war criminal born and raised in Honduras was an expert womanizer who had an ex-wife and two children living in Spain, a new wife who he had fallen out of love with, and his newest Brazilian mistress with which he had fallen in love with. Now living in the United States, Catholics are still on the hook for wedding vows, this German-Honduran decides that bigamy is his best bet at love. His young Brazilian mistress is overjoyed to no longer bear the shame of the mistress moniker for she has longed to be a married woman. Although poor she fronts the money to throw an elaborate wedding that he contributes little to. Love is blind. Regardless of the situation, the Brazilian mistress, in love, goes out to spend all her money on the most important day of her life, bouncing down the street unaware that her soon to be husband is being rushed to the hospital with anxiety stomach pains. Love and bigamy hurts. A real life drama that caused me to say "I gotta write a song about this." A composition that evokes the joy in every bride-to-be!
