"Ode to the Wookie" is Han Solo's revelation of fervent love for his wookie that has been festering for twenty years. In this definitive pop song about homosexual beastiality, you will hear Dave's vocal work transcend singing, as he imitates the haunting cry of Chewbacca.

    Story Behind the Song
After seeing Ben Folds live in concert, I was inspired to write a song from the first person point of view of a character that wasn't me. I have always been intrigued by the odd relationship between Han Solo and his wookie. How did they meet? Why are they travelling the galaxy together? What is a wookie? Is chewy male or female? What has happened to their relationship since Return of the Jedi? Since I didn't know the answers to any of these questions, I decided to make them up.

    Lyrics
Chewy, This is Han. Can you hear me?
I'm singin' from the other side of the galaxy.
    Where are you, Chewy?

Well, I know it's been a long time since we've spoken.
But remember all the fun we had, in the rebellion?
    Things were simpler then.

Long, long ago-- when there was a war in the stars--
And they would let us go to all of the intergalatic bars.

And I would ask you how you felt about me.
But you would just grunt like a bear with cerebral palsy--
    The sound of a wookie.

And so I acted like I wanted Princess Lea.
But she wasn't interested in a playa' hata'--
    Like, well, say moi.

Then we lost touch, until the Empire struck back.
And it didn't matter much, what our relationship lacked.

Chewy, come back home! Chewy, can you hear me?
Chewy, this is not a dream, this is just my fantasy!
You should know that I'm lost without you.
Chewy. do you feel the same?
Then I'd know that we still have a chance.
I've found I cannot live alone--
    Chewy, come back home!

But the Princess wasn't everything I thought she'd be.
Some things in life are never good-- even with royalty--
    Like heterosexuality.

So I turned my thoughts once more to you, Chewy.
Even though the rebel forces had animosity--
    Towards beastiality.

And it wouldn't have mattered at all, but that's when the Jedi Returned.
And the pain of losing you was one thing that I never learned!

    [Chorus]

    (Spoken)
Han: I don't want to fly solo anymore, Chewy.
    Chewy: (Unintelligible.)
Han: I think of you every time I see a mentally retarded bear.
    Chewy: (Unintelligible)
Han: Punch it, Chewy. One more time. For me.
    Chewy: (Unintelligible)
