Mysterious Day is the debut, original acoustic offering from Leeds band 'The Distanced', a laid back, melodic little ditty to take you away. |

Story Behind the Song
This track was written at the end of the bed on an old acoustic, sitting looking at the shit weather out of the window. 2 months later, writer Steve Pickles was living and working in Sydney,a world away from home town Leeds.
Taking inspiration from 'You can't kill rock and roll', one of Ozzy Osbournes tracks featuring Randy Rhoads, the song was written in close to 20 minutes, the lyrics a reflection of the view of the pessimist growing ever nearer escape and anonymity.
Originally being solely acoustic, the song was then arranged and developed by Steve and recorded at Pro2Studios, opening the track up with the addition of harmonies and strings. With Keiran O'Donnell on vocals, this gave the song a more commercial feel.
