Story Behind the Song
This song was written in 1995 and describes my feelings about maybe letting my dreams pass me by a little. The original recodring took a number of takes before I was pleased with the sound of the guitars. This version was recorded in the morning on Mother's Day 2003 in under 2 hours. I was happy with most of the parts after the first takes. I wrote this one in where I write all of my songs now, in lovely downtown Anaheim. I like this one, but it took our band a while to get comfortable playing it.
Lyrics
Fire, red and bold
Fire, touch my soul
Pain grabs my throat
Pain, words we spoke
I ran down to the dockside
Hateful men on the inside
Broken hopes and their hatred
Drunken dreams
Star hung above
Star, so in love
Dream, sound reverse
Dream, words we spoke
I ran down to the dockside
Hateful men on the inside
Broken hopes and their hatred
Drunken dreams
Star hung above
Star, so in love
Heat outside my room
Heat and something new
I ran down to the dockside
Hateful men on the inside
Broken hopes and their hatred
Drunken dreams
