Story Behind the Song
I started to write this song while in a really bad traffic jam outside of Chicago and I didn't finish it until a year later when I had moved out of Chicago and into the country.
Lyrics
Traffic jam, add some peanut butter
make a sandwich and come together in
communal agony as we all agree
rather be driving down this road doing seventy, traffic jam, traffic jam
Traffic jam, unavoidable, now and then we have some trouble when
everything in life seems to hesitate
they say good things come to those who wait, traffic jam, traffic jam
Traffic jam makes us appreciate, all the times we never have to wait
even though we don't like to learn this way
patience is a virtue any day
traffic jam, just add some peanut butter
make a sandwich and come together in
communal agony as we all agree
rather be driving down this road doing seventy, traffic jam, traffic jam
Traffic jam, left the city to, drive the country roads of tranquility
no aggravations as I'm free to fly, empty two lane roads of paradise
traffic jam, traffic jam
Traffic jam, hold on not so fast, driving utopia is not here at last
oh well so much for this county drive
stuck behind a tractor pushing twenty five
a tractor pushing twenty five
Traffic jam makes us appreciate...
