    Story Behind the Song
The song was written by my brother Dwight, initially in the Twin Cities back in 1983 I think it was. Over the years the lyrics have been tweaked a bit to bring it to the finished point where it is now.

    Lyrics
    I'll Never Lose Her Now
    by Dwight Newman

She woke up fumblin'---lookin' for another cover---
she said her feet were cold.
I know I should get up---the pilot light's out again---
but I lay here listenin' to this December wind.
And all she knows is she'll never lose me now.

When I was younger I used to dream---I used to wonder---
    tryin' to picture this.
I never imagined this kind of achin' cold---
I don't know how it happened, but we're finally gettin' old.
And all I know is I can't lose her now.

The early mornin' city sounds---through our window---
    bring me back again.
The frost in the air was never quite like this---
and closing my eyes as it carries me off in bliss---
all I know is I'll never lose her now.
All I know is I'll never lose her now.
