Story Behind the Song
I had a bouncy little tune floating around in my head. All I needed was some bouncy lyrics. Then I remembered the scripture that says we all fall short of the glory of God, and in Hebrews where Jesus is called the high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Then the Lord gave me the words, "I could never make it to heaven on my own. I could never enter in to meet Him at His throne, but I know Jesus Can, Jesus Can, He always can!"
Lyrics
I love Jesus; Jesus loves me.
Ha-hallelujah! His Grace has set me free.
He will never fail us; His promises, He keeps.
Ha-hallelujah! His Grace has set me free.
I could never make it to heaven on my own.
I could never enter in to meet Him at His throne, but
I know Jesus can, Jesus can, He always can.
I know Jesus can, Jesus can, He always can.
I know Jesus can, Jesus can, He always can.
I know Jesus can, Jesus can. Amen.
I sing for Jesus; Jesus sings with me.
Ha-hallelujah! What joy and harmony!
Clap your hands and join us; get up on your feet!
Ha-hallelujah! What joy and harmony!
We could never make it to heaven on my own.
We could never enter in to meet Him at His throne, but
I know Jesus can, Jesus can, He always can.
I know Jesus can, Jesus can, He always can.
I know Jesus can, Jesus can, He always can.
I know Jesus can, Jesus can, He always can.
