Story Behind the Song
The song is a positive affirmation of the committment I've made to develop my musical skills and song writing talents, wherever it may take me.

Follow My Heart

I’m in the fast lane, and there is no turning back.
Like a speeding freight train, I’m rolling down a one way track
My engine’s racing, I got the pedal to the floor,
Time to get moving, like I’ve never moved before.
It’s my decision, to take a path that’s new.
Don’t try and tell me about things that I can’t do.
It took a lifetime to finally make this start,
For the first time in my life I’m going to follow my heart.
But won’t keep us apart.
I’m looking forward, to the new things I will find.
No need to worry, you won’t get left behind.
Don’t think I’m leaving, when I open up the doors,
To new things for me, that help me give you more.
I want to add to, don’t want to take away.
I want to have more time you and me to play.
I want to have more of me that I can give to you.
Not sure how it will happen, well here’s a little clue
It might take help from you.
I might seem hurried, It’s just that I don’t know how much time
I have remaining, or what is left for me to find.
Whatever happens, I’ll be better off than now,
At least for trying, the best way I know how.
I’ll be much richer, even with the price I pay,
Wealthy with knowledge that they can’t take away.
My life’s a journey, don’t know how it will end.
Unknown tomorrows, and maybe a new friend
are just around the bend
Before my life comes to and end.
