Story Behind the Song
This song is one that was supposed to be a funny upbeat song. I had parts of it in my head for years. When it finally came together it ended up as a sad ballad. Come on...how many of us have fallen in love with some cute driver next to us at a stop light? Go on... you can admit it!

Just by chance it happened, drivin’ home that night,
Your car had pulled up next to mine stopped at the traffic light.
Well, you looked at me a second and you smiled to be polite.
For me, it was just love at first site.
But sometimes life is funny, and sometimes love ain’t fair
That I could feel that way, yet you’re completely unaware
That you were a major player
In a thirty second love affair.
Quickly I was dreamin’ that your eyes of crystal blue
Were staring deeply into mine and I was kissin’ you.
Well, I dreamed we were together, in a place that was our own,
The two of us in paradise, alone.
But sometimes life is funny, and sometimes love ain’t fair,
That I could feel that way yet you’re completely unaware,
That you were a major player
In a thirty second love affair.
Suddenly, I realized the light was turnin’ green
No bad feelings or breakups, your getaway was clean.
And I just sat there thinkin’, as your car sped away
I hope I see her here again someday.
‘Cause sometimes life is funny, and sometimes love ain’t fair
That I could feel that way yet you’re completely unaware
That you were a major player
In a thirty second love affair…a thirty second love affair.
