This song is dedicated to my nephew Lynn Webster. He was killed by a drunk driver.
He life was ended in February of his sixteen year only one month shy of his seventeenth
birthday. My wife Kathy gave me the verse "the youngest of three but his life was not to be". The song took off from there. I wrote it in my bedroom then Kevin added the keyboards after the first cut in the studio. I still cry today when I hear that song. My wife played it at Lynn's father (Harland) house about a year after I wrote it. He listened and then lowered his head. With tears in his eyes he whispered " You don't mind if I have a copy do you ?". I replied "It's yours, Harland. We wanted to give you this song a long time ago." I would have but I was afraid at how he would accept it. I'm glad he loved it. |
