Story Behind the Song
This song was written in remembrance of Matt's grandmother, who passed away this year. This song is also dedicated to Vince Lazano, who died in a car accident last April.
Lyrics
Beg your pardon, when does this spotlight shine on me?
It's alright it's proably too hot and too bright to see
Shadows creep in and end this scene much too soon
It takes my voice and makes me blind, nothing left to lose
You can't find me just another face in the crowds
Screaming at the top of my lungs but everyone else is too loud
I heard the news today and I had to think twice
Your body has up and left, sacrifice and you suffice
Taken much too young, I don't know what to do
Fleeting and leaving, I don't know what life is like without you
You can't see me just another tear in your eye
Grasping as far as you can reach but its time to say goodbye
Sometimes painful, sometimes hurting - I never thought it through
Sometimes loving, sometimes caring - Don't worry, we've all been there too
Sometimes forgiving, sometimes forgetting - I never thought it through
Sometimes painful, sometimes forgiving - I can't let go
