	Story Behind the Song Politics motivated me to write this song. The lyric's are my views on the rights of the people . It was written in 1983 in my apartment in Baytown Texas after listening to politicians debait certain rights in our country. It took a few minutes to write and a year to finish recording. It took a few sessions to get it the way it is today Lyrics We'll be the land of the free and home of the brave Too many men have fought and died to throw it all away I was born in texas in 1955 Back when the country was growing strong and America was our pride I've seen a lot of changes in the past twenty years Love for God and country disapeared I remember in the classroom a time for silent prayer Cogress has to bring it back because most people care This land was built on freedom that some would take away Stand up for your rights and vote Let's keep our country great Chorus America let's straighten up again let's be strong and be the leader we've always been Stay the land of the free and home of the brave Too many men have fought and died to throw it all away So let's all band togeather and form our common cause Make our ledgislature give back our rights by law Loyalty and courage made us united men In God We Trust this is a must Without him we can't win Chorus Too many men have faught and died to throw it all away
