Story Behind the Song
Lights Out Carpathia truthfully was written after going to a Titanic exhibit. I found myself paying more interest in the idea of the tradegy rather than the facts and artifacts. Imagining just how it would have felt to survived a horrific night like that and feel rescued at the sight of another ship(Carpathia) Only in the end to relize that when you left that life boat you most likely were a widow. In the end just how much of a rescue ship was Carpathia?
Lyrics
Lights Out, Carpathia
half filled memories
just a tad bit of an icy notion
that hangs and rejects all at
the same time
19 minutes til we sink deep in our
own grief
ship full of widows,
women and children first...say goodbye /men on the ship will
space shuttle launch, 20th century that rocks to a
starless sky except for a white star line
crew filled tank to the top
BELFEST, starless sky reflects
ship full of widows, startling cry
women and children first, say goodbye, say goodnight
everything is not the same when we're different
this is not a dream but a tradegy
coal be seen
laid out map for the sea, done for, a lifeboat dawn
,belfest trip full of greed /space shuttle launch, 20 century
ship full of widows, startling cry
women and children first, say goodbye, say goodnight
and nothing is the same when we're different
gone, car-pathi-a
belfest
build 1-3
rough iron made so weak
1-4 til the cold water breaks in the deep
rivets that are incomplete 2-8
whereas memories are just drowned / incased
in the frozen wake.
belfest
starless sky reflects a white star line
belfest
iced fists gouge the pride of men
wondering where you are
19 minutes til we/ sink deep in our
own grief
ship full of widows, startling cry
women and children first...say goodbye
this is the way it goes
it's all said and done
this is not a dream but a tradegy
ship full of widows, startling cry
men on the ship, they'll die
