This song has an unique flavor of East and West. The music is based on the Indian 'Raga' (musical scale) 'Bhairabi'. The Indian string instruments 'Sarode',
'Tanpura', and the Indian drum 'Tabla' are introduced in this song along with Western accompaniments and Western beats. The touching lyrics and the combination of various melodies and harmonies have made this song rich with an universal appeal. |

Story Behind the Song
'Old World' promotes the message of selflessness and peace. In this world, misery is present everywhere in the form of hunger, hatred, and loneliness, but each person can take a role in alleviating many of these miseries by providing food and help to the needy and by showering people with love and kindness, as hatred, apathy, and vengeance only add to the miseries of the world. This song was written while I was working out in a gym in Houston and also in my home at Houston.
Lyrics
CHORUS:
This old world must change to bring help and peace.
This old world must change to bring help and peace.
VERSE:
Just look at that poor boy crying - his stomach has been without food.
There should be more aid to those who need our help the most,
And what about people dying alone and in a depressed mood?
No one they know stayed with them as they laid at their post.
We must be selfless; our prime duties call to serve the helpess; give good care to all
(REPEAT CHORUS)
VERSE:
What good would all the fighting do
Over some trivial matter
When innocent men are under attack and then killed?
Where do the abandoned turn to?
In the cold street, their teeth chatter.
Give some shelter then, and make sure that no blood is spilled.
We must be selfless; our prime duties call to serve the helpess; give good care to all
(REPEAT CHORUS)
