	The exodus of people from the town of San Antonio de Bejar was frantic as Santa Anna's Mexican Army descended from the surrounding countryside.

	Story Behind the Song The sentinel rings the bell. Everybody stops what they are doing and looks up, wondering what is wrong. The order is given to evacuate as the Mexican Army is spotted converging on the town. This was an excellent scene as all the townspeople headed for the Alamo. There were horses, wagons and cattle. Men, women and children frantically evacuating as Santa Anna made his way to occupy San Antonio de Bejar. It was a long tiring day but definitely exciting!
